Hyderabad-based spacetech startup Skyroot Aerospace crossed the Rs 100 crore revenue mark in FY26 as it began monetising its space systems business ahead of the maiden launch of its Vikram-I rocket, according to provisional financial statements reviewed by platform. The development comes shortly after Skyroot became India's first spacetech unicorn following a $60 million funding round that valued the company at around $1.1 billion.
Skyroot's operating revenue stood at Rs 100.6 crore in FY26, the company's first meaningful revenue since inception. The startup is yet to commence commercial launch operations, which shows that the entire revenue was generated through its Space Systems business.
The company manufactures a range of aerospace and satellite components, including composite satellite structures, payload adaptors, composite motor cases, propulsion systems, actuators, nozzles, and other ancillary products used in satellites and launch vehicles. Skyroot began to commercialise these products during FY26 while continuing development of its launch vehicles. According to the documents, the company also posted a negative EBITDA of Rs 130.3 crore in FY26, compared with a negative EBITDA of Rs 107.7 crore in the previous fiscal year (FY25).
On the cost front, its employee benefit expenses increased to Rs 95.5 crore during FY26 from Rs 35.9 crore a year earlier. It also spent heavily on research and development, testing facilities, and operational expansion. Its operating and administrative expenses rose to Rs 88.2 crore in FY26. Looking ahead, Skyroot expects revenue to grow nearly tenfold to Rs 977 crore in FY27, comprising Rs 345 crore from launch services and Rs 633 crore from the Space Systems business. The company is targeting the maiden launch of Vikram-I during the ongoing fiscal year, which is expected to open a new revenue stream from satellite launch services.
