APEDA is the abbreviation for Agricultural & Processed Food Products Export Development Authority. It is an executive organization established in 1985 through an act for the growth and promotion of export of scheduled products. It provides financial assistance, information, guidelines towards the development of scheduled products. The products listed under the APEDA Act are called schedule products, and, the exporters who want to export such scheduled products shall get their self-registered under APEDA.

The Agricultural & Processed Food Products Export Development Authority, commonly known as APEDA, was established in 1985 as per the prescriptions mentioned in the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority Act of 1985, aimed to develop and promote the export of scheduled products. It has been formed to offer financial assistance, guidelines, and information concerning planned product development. These prepared products have been listed in the Act mentioned above, and the exporters of such products are required to register themselves under the APEDA. Documents Required for APEDA RCMC Registration

1. Details of registered office, head office and branch office.

2. Duly signed and sealed copy of application form.

3. Self-certified copy of Import Export Code (IEC) issued by the Director-General of Foreign Trade.

4. Bank certificate in the prescribed form to support the financial soundness of the applicant.

5. Certified copy of MOA (in case of a company) or partnership deed (in case of partnership firm) or trust deed/Memorandum of Rules & regulations (in case of trust/society).

6. Details of registration with other Export Promotion Council/Commodity Board, if any.

7. Details of the licence issued by any sponsoring authority (DGTD, State Director of Industries etc.)

APEDA Registration Procedure

With the aim of simplifying the registration process and ease of doing business, with effect from 1.8.2015, issuance of RCMC (Registration-Cum-Membership-Certificate) has been made online by using digital signatures. Further, the Exporters can submit an online application by following the steps listed below –

1. Log in to the official APEDA Website and then click on “Register as Member” tab

2. Now, enter the required basic details such as the Import Export Code, email ID and registered mobile number and then submit it

3. One Time Password (OTP) for confirming the submitted details will be sent on the applicant’s registered e-mail and mobile number, and then the same is required to be entered on the verification screen. Lastly, after submitting all the required details, click on submit to proceed option.

4. Once verification is complete, fill in the concerned online application and also upload the required documents. Further, it is significant to note that all the documents should be in the JPEG, PDF or PNG formats only.

5. The concerned online application can be completed in one or more sessions by revisiting the website using the allotted OTP. Further, once the information required is entered in the respective fields, save the data. Furthermore, the data entered is allowed to be edited until online payment is not made.

6. The Prescribed Fee for obtaining registration is Rs. 5000/- excluding taxes and can be paid by any of the following modes:

Credit Card (MasterCard and Visa)

Debit Card (MasterCard and Visa)

Demand draft (DD) in favor of “APEDA” payable with respective cities

7. Once the payment process is complete, an application number will be generated. This provided application number is required for future reference.

8. On issuance of RCMC (Registration-Cum-Membership-Certificate), login details will be sent to the registered email address of the exporter. Further, the concerned Exporter can log in to their account by using the “Exporter Login” link provided on the APEDA website.

9. Status of the RCMC (Registration-Cum-Membership-Certificate) application can be viewed by clicking on the “Track Application” link. This will help the exporter to view the status of the concerned application by submitting the import-export code and application number until it is issued.

10. In the case of any shortcoming in the submitted application, the exporter will have to rectify and resubmit the documents online.

11. The last step of the registration process is the approval of RCMC from APEDA (Agriculture and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority) officials. Once the approval is given the Certificate of registration can be taken by using APEDA Login details under the heading of “View RCMC Certificate” under RCMC (Registration-Cum-Membership-Certificate) Menu
