CRAON, an AI-powered video editing platform, has raised a pre-seed funding round at a valuation of $1 million from a global venture capital firm. The startup will use the raised capital to accelerate product development and scale user acquisition. Its next funding round is expected within two to three months.

CRAON said its approach is to allow users to describe what they want their video to convey through prompts, and have the platform handle the assembly of cuts, subtitles, music, and visual elements based on that direction. The platform works with real footage rather than generated content, and users can refine the output through iterative feedback without having to rebuild sequences from scratch.

"Although advancements in filming and distribution have accelerated amid the rapid expansion of India's creator economy, video editing remains a time-intensive bottleneck. We at CRAON are addressing this challenge, by enabling creators and teams to transition efficiently from concept to production-ready output while preserving creative control," said Rishabh Sagar.

About CRAON

CRAON has been founded by Rishabh Sagar, who serves as Co-Founder and CEO, along with Dishant Narang and Chaitanya. Despite significant advances in filming and distribution, editing remains one of the most time-intensive stages of video production. For creators, marketing teams, agencies, and freelance editors who need to produce content at high volumes and with tight turnaround times, spending hours manually cutting and refining footage has become a persistent challenge.
