Yatrikart is Co-founded in 2021 by Gaurav Rana and Shivangee Sharma. Yatrikart is a tech-enabled transit retail chain that empowers hawkers and retailers at transit stations to create a new "retailing-on-the-go" format, focusing on micro-entrepreneurship. It aims to be a "WH-Smith for Bharat" by empowering hawkers and retailers at transit stations, offering essentials and non-essential items to road and rail travelers.
Transit retail chain Yatrikart has secured a strategic investment as a part of Series A funding round from MMG Group, the Indian partner of global giants McDonald's and Coca-Cola, acquiring a stake at a valuation of Rs 100 crore. Prior to this, YatriKart had raised $2.8 million from its existing investors including Artha Venture Fund, Fox Software Ventures, She Capital, and Shuru Up. The proceeds will be used to expand its franchise network using FOCO and FOFO models, enhance tech infrastructure, and optimize supply chains with the 'Quick Commerce for Transit' app, Yatrikart said in a press release. According to the Indore based company, it focuses on providing a convenient shopping experience for people on the move. It offers a range of products, including snacks, beverages, personal care items, home care products, pet care essentials, confectionery, tobacco, hygiene products, ready-to-eat foods, over-the-counter drugs, and micro-ATMs and charging stations.
Yatrikart aims to establish over 5,000 smart kiosks and stores at metro hubs, railway stations, highways, and airports, enhancing its technology-driven retail ecosystem. The company says that it has no direct competition so far but indirectly competes with unorganized kiosks and carts.
